Also, please familiarize yourself with the Rules and Regulations so everyone can enjoy the forest without issue.

Spring, Summer, Fall:

Hiking Trails

We have over 70km of Hiking trails in the reserve. Visit our Hiking page for more information, and grab a copy of the map before you set out!

Hiking trails are open all year, if there is fresh snow consider bringing snowshoes, or if ice is present we recommend the over-boot ice cleats.

Dogs are welcome but they must stay on leash!

Canoeing

With over 20 lakes in the reserve, there are plenty of beautiful bodies of water to discover. For a full-day outing check out the Crystal Falls Canoe Route which is an out and back chain of lakes with a waterfall at the end. It starts on Buck lake. Check out our Summer Map for more info.

Swimming

You’re also welcome to go for a swim in any of the lakes, however should you like a more establishes swimming area there are multiple waterfronts located on the map. Swim at your own risk, no lifeguards present.

Biking

We currently do not have dedicated trails specific to mountain biking, however our internal road network is great for gravel bikers and roadies. You are more than welcome to give the hiking trails a shot on your mountain bikes, but they were built with hikers first in mind so many features will be a challenge. Be prepared to yield to other trail users. Hickory Trail is a decent biking option!

Winter:

Skiing

We keep a growing network of over 35km of groomed cross-country ski trails all winter. Visit our Ski Trails page for more info.

Snowshoeing

You can snowshoe anywhere you’d like on the property, should you wish to snowshoe along our groomed ski trails we just ask that you stay out of the ski trackset itself. New for this winter, we have limited snowshoes for rent at our Tuck Shop.

Fatbikes

Once our hiking trails get packed down by hikers they become hospitable to fatbiking. Still keep in mind that our trails are more hiking-focused so scout out features if you’ve never biked them before and be prepared to yield to other trail users.
